Seattle Henley Regatta a Success!

THANK YOU to everyone who made our 1st annual Seattle Henley Regatta a success!
It was a new, exciting format that everyone seemed to love and respond well to. Having 2 different race formats within the same regatta is a challenge both to the crews and coxswains and logistically our end. Fortunately, there were only a couple of minor kinks to work out - We've already debriefed and have ideas of how to improve for next year's event.
Please let us know what you think!

Junior Summer Camps - enroll now!

Enrollment has begun for Lake Union Crew's Junior Summer Camps

Camps are co-ed for ages 12 - 18, for experienced rowers and those that have never touched an oar before.

We have three 3-week seesions; 1 in June, 1 in July, and 1 in August.

It is most advisable to take one (or more) continuous session, but if your schedule won't allow that, you may mix and match weeks from different sessions if you wish.

The exception is for those that have never rowed before: you MUST attend a 'WEEK 1' before attending any subsequent weeks.

This year, we have added an afternoon session, allowing camps to attend just the morning session, just the afternoon session, or all day!

Please feel free to visit the link above or contact us to register now - or to ask any more questions.

We hope to see you on the water this summer!

Seattle Henley Regatta
Sunday March 22, 2009

2009 marks the 1st running of the Seattle Henley Regatta, sponsored by Lake Union Crew.
Seattle Henley is a new race format in the Northwest, involving a time-trial over a 1,000 meter course. Upon conclusion of the race, while still on the water, racers will learn which two boats in the event had the fastest times. Those two boats will return to the start line and race in a Henley duel - the first to the finish line is the winner!

Racing takes place in the north reach of Lake Union. The start line is just south of Ivar's Restaurant, near the Skansonia. The straight 1,000 meter course ends at Gas Works Park, right in front of the racers' families and friends!

All the details about categories race progression are in the
General Info packet and at Regatta Central. The course map is pictured below.

T-Shirts with the official Seattle Henley Regatta logo, pictured above, will be available at regatta headquarters at Gas Works Park on race day.
Northwest Designs Ink will be onsite to customize shirts according to style preference, team or rower's name, and more! Be sure to get yours just the way you want it!

Dates still available this summer!

If you are planning a last minute wedding or summer party and are still in need of space, we still have some weekend availability!

Our venue is located on the second level of our facility directly on the waters of Lake Union.

Capacity is 140, and pricing ranges from $600 weekday and $900 - $2250 Friday-Sunday.

We have no inhouse or exclusive caterers, so you are welcome to use anyone you wish. We do have an extensive list of preferred caterers to choose from however, and are happy to recommend one if you wish.

Please feel free to contact us for more information, and to check open dates on our calendar!
