Seattle Henley Regatta
Sunday March 22, 2009
2009 marks the 1st running of the Seattle Henley Regatta, sponsored by Lake Union Crew.
Seattle Henley is a new race format in the Northwest, involving a time-trial over a 1,000 meter course. Upon conclusion of the race, while still on the water, racers will learn which two boats in the event had the fastest times. Those two boats will return to the start line and race in a Henley duel - the first to the finish line is the winner! Racing takes place in the north reach of Lake Union. The start line is just south of Ivar's Restaurant, near the Skansonia. The straight 1,000 meter course ends at Gas Works Park, right in front of the racers' families and friends!

T-Shirts with the official Seattle Henley Regatta logo, pictured above, will be available at regatta headquarters at Gas Works Park on race day. Northwest Designs Ink will be onsite to customize shirts according to style preference, team or rower's name, and more! Be sure to get yours just the way you want it!
We'll be heading up to Seattle from the Portland area to race at Green Lake regatta that Saturday. This new regatta gives us the opportunity to add another day of racing onto one trip. Great idea - we'll be there!
